A pet food recall has been issued. The Kroger Co. said Monday it is recalling select packages of pet food sold in some of its retail stores because the products may contain aflatoxin, which poses a health risk to pets. Houdini is a Maltese dog ... they have no under coat, are very low on dander and therefore have a much lower count when it comes to allergens.  This makes him, along with a few other special breeds, the perfect companion for those suffering from the sneezing, coughing symptoms that plague so many people.

As you all know by now, Houdini Clarke is a very well traveled small dog. Maltese are small dogs that don't shed, and as such, it is actually a pleasure to travel with him.

Well, a few years back we were cruising the Exumas in the Bahamas and happened upon a special lady and her Jack Russell companion, Bob. Now, it turns out that Annie was kind of the self appointed harbor master at the Black Point settlement where we hung on the hook for close to a week. A gutsy woman, she and Bob were cruising all by themselves on a nifty trawler named "Dreamboat Annie"

Long story short, we all became friends. Annie and Bob are back in the US and Bob just celebrated his birthday ... sooo ... just a quick picture so all you pups out there can share in the festivities.

Annie writes: " Bob's birthday cake was made out of hamburger with hot dog eyes and a ketchup mouth. We had a great time at the beach with 9 of Bob's friends. "

Houdini sends his love and will "pee -mail" soon ... LOL!

Small dogs that don't shed ... these little guys are great! Houdini Clarke loves to dress up for the photo ops and has decided to ask his friends to choose his Halloween costume this year. Of course, he has several options to choose from and over the next couple of weeks will be modeling all his latest gear.

In addition, he would love to include all of his friends pictures also. So tell your Mom and Dad to dress you up in your best dog Halloween costume and take a picture. Houdini will post all of them. You don't even have to be a small dog ... all dogs are welcome!



The "Hoots" is rather partial to his latest sombrero. It gives him that Latin flare and he is looking forward to the next cinco de mayo party where he can show it off ... OLE`

Small Dogs - Houdini Clarke Celebrates Birthday

Houdini Clarke, Maltese Dog and definitely a member of the small dogs that don't shed, will be celebrating his 7th birthday tomorrow. Yes, I know, he still looks just like a pup, but he has been around the block a few times ... pun intended!



He picked us out when he was only 10 weeks old and has finally, after all of these years, pretty much got us trained to keep him a lifestyle that most people would envy!

Houdini spends most of his time doing doggie stuff when he is not running for Prez. Yes, he did run for the White House in 2008 and for now, he is keeping up with his memoirs and perhaps 2012 ....



Prince Houdini of Capri has traveled quite a bit and knows the international scene pretty well. The "Hoots" has gone to Europe 10 times, traveled by plane (both private and commercial), train, boat, bicycle, golf cart and automobile.



The little guy met with the mayor of Guanaja while visiting Honduras (see photo op) and has been sung to in the Austrian Alps by famous singer "Anton of Tirol" ....


He has been deep sea fishing in the Bahamas and splashed in the crystal blue waters of the Florida Keys. There is not much that Houdini Clarke has missed out on, as it should be.

So all friends of Houdini Clarke are invited for special "kibble and bits" !
